Civil War Encampment
Civil War encampment featuring the 14th Ohio Volunteer Infantry-costumed soldiers and civilian camp followers, camp craft demonstrations, and campfire cooking. The 73rd Ohio volunteer Infantry band featuring 15 musicians with authentic uniforms and instruments will be performing music of the era under the direction of founder John M. Huffman. Fireplace cooking demonstrations in the restored 1820's home of the Danbury Peninsula's first lighthouse keeper and frontier craft demonstrations. Bean soup, corn bread, and cider will be served for a donation. Raffle drawing at 3 pm. Event is sponsored by the Ottawa County Historical Society with a grant from the Ohio Arts Council.
